On Saturday, May 31, Mr. Purvis and the York Falcon Band Aides will host a "Welcome to the Family" Orientation Meeting for students and families who will be new to the band program in the fall. Donuts, bagels, and coffee will be served beginning at 8:00. Mr. Purvis will present an overview of the band program and discuss activities which will take place prior to the first day of school. This promises to be an informative session and a great opportunity to connect before the summer begins. Any current band members who would like to attend are also welcome.

Dear Band Families,
We are now well along in preparing the 2007-2008 YHS Band "Year-in-Review" DVD. However, we are also aware that many of you have taken photos and video of band functions. If you have digital pictures or video that you would be willing to share (especially video), we would greatly appreciate the input. Please furnish appropriate media to Lee and Debbie Noble on or before Sunday, May 18. If you are not able to pull pics/video together by May 18, please call Lee or Debbie (898-9453) by 5/18 to coordinate. The slide show portion of the DVD will be shown at the Award Night on June 4.

Annual Spring Awards Banquet

The Annual Spring Awards Banquet will be held on June 4th at 6pm at the Point Plaza Suites and Conference Hotel, 9500 J. Clyde Morris Blvd, Newport News, in the Chesapeake Ballroom. The menu includes: London Broil, Seasoned Baked Chicken, Steamed Mixed Vegetables, Roasted Red Potatoes, Salad, Iced Tea/Coffee, and Dessert (one dessert per person please). The price will be $12 for students and adults (age 11 and up). Children ages 4 to 10 will be $10 and children 3 and under will be free. I am sure you will find the evening entertaining.
A reservation form is attached and also will be available in the band room by Friday. Forms need to be completed and turned in to Mr. Purvis, with payment, by May 28th.
This is also the evening that the next Falcon Band Aides, Inc. Board Members will be elected by a majority vote. Please don't miss your opportunity to elect the Board for 2008-2009!
